It Doesn’t Make Sense

So, I got the mail about two minutes ago, once again I had a credit card offer. That’s the third or fourth since the weekend. I don’t get it. I have no job outside the home; which to a creditor means no real income to speak of. I have had trouble making credit card payments on time in the past. They know I don’t “qualify” for the good rates they are offering to new card holders and so do I. Why am I getting them? Why drown my mailbox with more useless pieces of paper for me to recycle?

I have one credit card that I have used in the last 3 years. It does not have a large limit, just enough to make it hard to pay off once it gets to it’s limit. I got it to build credit, and that backfired while I was in school. My plan is to eventually pay it off now and NEVER, EVER have another! If I need it that bad, then I should have the money in my checking account to pay for it; otherwise it’s just too bad for me.

But anyway, it just doesn’t make sense to me for companies to send these offers out so incessantly like they are giving away free money. I think we all know that money comes with more charges and fees than you could ever possibly shake a stick at.
